Polar Chillament 2025 - 3D Printing Meetup

Come hang out with the local 3D printing community at the Polar Filament HQ.  See how filament is made, make/recycle your own spool of filament, and hang out with everyone else who loves 3D printing just as much as you do.  Feel free to bring some of your favorite 3D prints to show off.  Polar Filament will be providing food around 6pm.

Make your own Filament - $25 per spool
Run the filament line yourself, make a spool with YOUR name on it.  Color will be determined on the day of the event, and we will be making about 25kgs per color

Recycle your own Filament - $25 per spool
Bring your filament poops or nearly empty spools of filament to be recycled into new filament, and run the machines yourself.  Recycling is not easy.  There is considerably more work that needs to be done, and the filament is often difficult to print with afterward.  We get asked about recycling a lot, so this will be your chance to see the challenges first-hand.

Recycling Rules

  • PLA/PLA+ only
  • No Silks, HTPLA, or any other modified PLA
  • Printer poop and nearly empty spools allowed, no failed prints
  • Colors do not need to be sorted

Photography
Some areas are marked as No Photography, such as the filament production area.  We had to make this rule because some of our techniques were leaked in the past.  Respecting this rule is what lets us keep hosting events like this.  If you'd like to get a photo/video of yourself in one of the restricted areas, ask Polar Filament staff to take a photo.  We will take phots/videos with our own cameras and email them out after they have been reviewed for sensitive information.
