Filament Exchange (Hosted by Polar Filament)
Leave a spool, take a spool. Exchange your unwanted filament with other people at MRRF. This is an opportunity to try new brands and materials while also finding a home for those old spools that you don’t think you’ll ever use again.
Stop by the Polar Filament booth if you’d like to participate.
At the last event, over 600 spools were exchanged!
How it works
- Exchange your filament for tickets
- Exchange your tickets for other filament at any time throughout the event
Details and Rules
- All materials are allowed (Exotics are very popular)
- All spools must have at least 300g of filament remaining
- 300g-599g spools receive 1 ticket
- 599g-1000g spools receive 2 tickets
- Spools larger than 1kg are up to discretion of Polar Filament
- 1.75mm filament can only be traded for other 1.75mm filament
- 2.85mm filament can only be traded for other 2.85mm filament
Donations
- Unclaimed filament at the end of the event will be donated to local makerspaces, schools, toys-for-tots, etc.
- Yes, you can donate filament, even if you don’t want anything in return
- If you’d like to nominate someone to receive filament after the event, please email mitch@polarfilament.com - Recipients must be local to the event, or agree to pay for shipping if required.
